COWON D2 (with DMB) 4GB memory.
Previously, the author(I) has made it usable again by replacing its depleted useless battery.
It is working fine now. But it natively lacks nowadays-wide-spread bluetooth feature.
Now is the time for the author to make it a bluetooth capable device, which means making it emit wireless audio signals so that a blue-tooth speaker, headset or earset may be connected to it. Here are the details on what have been done for it:
What is required for this is a blue-tooth signal transmitter(TX) gadget.Previously, the author(I) has made it usable again by replacing its depleted useless battery.

And definitely not a receive-feature only(RX) device. Here we would use YET-TR6 which is listed on AliExpress site with a very low price.
It includes both the TX and RX modes with 5.0 version of bluetooth transfer protocol.
So it could be used also for making a wired non-blue-tooth speaker(head phone) a blue-tooth capable one. But it is not that great for TX feature as it involves some noises with earphones while it is hardly recognizable when it is connected with external speakers as blue-tooth device.
(You have been notified of the important demerit or defect of it here) Anyway, it could be used as a good example for how such capabilities could be rendered for non-blue-tooth devices.
Here we go~!
Prerequisites
The Specifics
- Turn on D2 and connect YET-TR6
to it via its 3.5mm audio outlet with its accompanied male-to-male 3.5mm audio cable.
Insert its one end to the gadget's TRANSMIT inlet and the other to that of D2's as shown below:
- The gadget also requires an electronic power supply
as it is a separate device.
Connect the transmitter's USB connection outlet to a power source such as USB charger as shown above or a supplementary battery as shown below:
- Turn on a desired bluetooth earset or speaker.
- Wait for a few seconds. After a little while YET-TR6 says "Connected" then "Pairing.".
- Now that the connection is established we can play the music via D2 or the connected music player.
- Finally let us play the music via the now bluetooth-capable D2 or the connected one and enjoy using it.
It works but with noises.
Yes, thus it is not a recommended product at all obviously. It has been referred to here as an example which could be experimented, at a low price, for both the TX and Rx modes.BTW, thanks for reading it. Have fun!
